I bought a Peloton bike in 2020, I've been amazed at how it has transformed my workouts. From the bootcamp classes to strength classes, I love them all. Plus, it's been fun connecting with other peloton users. Most are my friends, but some are Instagram friends. I've toyed with getting a Peloton tread, but haven't taken the plunge yet.
In today's post, I'll share a free printable Peloton workout calendar to help you plan and organize your fitness schedule. With this floor calendar, you can create a training plan and make the best Peloton workout plan. So, let's dive into this blog post and explore how this printable calendar can be a game-changer for your fitness journey.
How do you plan your Peloton workouts?
Planning your Peloton workouts is essential for staying consistent and reaching your fitness goals. Here are some steps to help you effectively plan your Peloton workouts:
Set your fitness goals: Determine what you want to achieve with your Peloton workouts. Whether it's weight loss, building strength, or improving endurance, having clear goals will guide your workout planning.
Assess your fitness level: Take into account your current fitness level and any specific areas you want to focus on. This will help you choose the right classes and instructors that align with your needs.
Create a workout schedule: Decide how many days per week you want to dedicate to Peloton workouts. Consider your other commitments and make sure to include rest days for recovery.
Mix up your workouts: Variety is key to staying motivated and preventing boredom. Incorporate a mix of cardio, strength, and flexibility workouts to create a well-rounded fitness routine.
Explore different class types: Peloton offers a wide range of classes, including indoor cycling, strength training, yoga, and more. Experiment with different class types to find what you enjoy and what challenges you.
Utilize the Peloton schedule: Take advantage of the Peloton schedule feature to plan your workouts in advance. This way, you can reserve your spot in live classes or bookmark on-demand classes that align with your schedule.
Listen to your body: Pay attention to how your body feels and adjust your workouts accordingly. If you need a rest day or want to focus on a specific muscle group, be flexible with your schedule.
Track your progress: Use a fitness tracker or the Peloton app to monitor your progress and see how far you've come. This can be a great motivator and help you stay accountable to your goals.
What types of classes does Peloton offer?
Peloton offers a wide variety of classes to cater to different fitness preferences and goals. Here are some of the types of classes you can find on the Peloton platform:
Indoor Cycling: Peloton is renowned for its indoor cycling classes, which are available in various durations and intensity levels. These classes are led by expert instructors who guide you through challenging rides while providing motivation and music playlists.
Strength Training: Peloton offers a range of strength training classes that target different muscle groups. These classes incorporate bodyweight exercises, dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to help you build strength and tone your body.
Yoga: Peloton's yoga classes are designed to improve flexibility, balance, and mindfulness. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, you can find classes that suit your skill level and focus on different aspects of yoga practice.
Cardio: If you're looking to get your heart rate up and burn calories, Peloton's cardio classes are a great option. These classes include high-intensity interval training (HIIT), dance cardio, and other cardio-focused workouts to get your blood pumping.
Meditation: Peloton recognizes the importance of mental well-being and offers meditation classes to help you relax, reduce stress, and improve mindfulness. These classes are led by experienced instructors who guide you through various meditation techniques.
Stretching and Recovery: Peloton's stretching and recovery classes focus on improving flexibility, mobility, and aiding in post-workout recovery. These classes can help prevent injuries, reduce muscle soreness, and improve overall flexibility.
Outdoor Running: Peloton also offers outdoor running classes that you can follow along with using the Peloton app. These classes provide guided audio coaching to help you improve your running technique and endurance.
When you're planning out your week day peloton workout plan, you'll want to think about the parts of the body you'd like to work on. Do you want to focus on upper body, entire body or full body strength? If you're doing strength classes, I always recommend starting with body weight exercises for the first week. In the second week or maybe even fourth week, you can focus on other types of peloton classes that drive greater muscle mass.
Some of my favorite Peloton instructors are Alex Toussaint for 20-45 minute bike rides, Callie for strength (she feels like a personal trainer to me!) and Cody Rigsby when I want a ride that will make me giggle. Emma Lovewell is way harder than you'd expect! I recommend her Pilates classes.
I also like Jess Sims rides, too. She has great recovery rides. I seem to have a favorite instructor by type of class vs. overall. There are always new instructors, too, so be sure to keep an eye out.
Spend some time exploring the app so you can make a plan. There are challenges you can opt into, which is as great idea if you're looking for beginner workout plans.
