ClassPass Review: My Hidden Beauty & Workout Secret

As a new(er) mom, I struggle to carve out time for myself. Since ClassPass has workouts and beauty appointments, I wanted to try it. Would I use it? I decided to try it and budget something for myself every month.

For me, it’s not about spending too much, it’s about carving out time. I constantly found myself saying I’d book a massage or get my nails done only for another month to pass. With ClassPass, I try new workouts and I get my nails done monthly. I’ve also gotten massages, too!

ClassPass offers tons of fitness experiences, workout classes and beauty appointments. It makes it easy to try things. Plus, you often get a discount vs. the typical fee!

People celebrate the platform's versatility. They speak to an almost adventurous delight in hopping from Pilates to kickboxing, or from barre to HIIT with ease and enthusiasm. With so many options, you can keep your workout routine fresh.

A marketplace of fitness at your fingertips.

A few people talk about cost concerns. Yet, it's the depth of selection that shines; access to top-tier gyms and studios often justifies the investment for those dedicated to mixing up their fitness repertoire. Plus, like I mentioned earlier, you can often try classes or get beauty appointments at a discounted rate.

It’s an adaptable way to stay committed to fitness!

The agile ClassPass model shines in accommodating ever-changing schedules, making it easier for users to ensure they can keep their bodies moving, even when last-minute work meetings or family obligations crop up. It's a modern-day solution to the age-old problem of finding time to exercise amidst a busy life. While you have to cancel 12 hours in advance, it’s still pretty flexible!

Understanding ClassPass

ClassPass operates on a credit-based system allowing dynamic scheduling based on personal convenience and preference. The flexibility is a highlight for on-the-go individuals craving variety in their workout routines.

By offering a diverse array of fitness experiences—from pilates to HIIT sessions—you're never constrained by a single location or activity type.

What is ClassPass?

ClassPass is an app that offers access to fitness classes, experiences and beauty appointments with the click of a button. They have a vast network of local studios, gyms and more. It transforms the way you approach your fitness and allows you to try more places easily.

With a ClassPass membership, every workout doubles as a chance for discovery and community connection.

This platform makes selecting classes as simple as streaming a favorite show, providing an antidote to workout monotony. Coupled with user-friendly apps and seamless scheduling (often as simple as a tap on the screen), ClassPass is a champion for the chronically busy, turning exercise from a dreaded task into a beloved part of daily life.

Subscription Options and Pricing

ClassPass flexes with your lifestyle, offering a variety of membership levels that cater to different workout frequencies and budgets. The beauty of this model is in its adaptability—you dial in your ideal level of commitment.

The base plan is 23 ClassPass credits, which is $49 per month. That’s the package that I have. As you sign up for bigger packages, the value of the credits gets better.

For example, the base package of 23 credits. The value of each credit is $2.13/credit. You can also subscribe to 43 credits per month for $89, 68 credits per month for $139, or 100 credits per month for $199 per month.  Based on how often you work out, it can feel like an unlimited membership.

If you run out of credits, you can buy more at any time incrementally. Every month, your package credits roll over to the next month and can be used in any Classpass city.

Each workout class or beauty appointment has a set number of credits that it costs, and the app automatically deducts from it when you sign up. It's a fitness investment that caters to everyone.

How Does ClassPass Work?

Imagine a world where a single membership opens the doors to tons of fitness experiences, all at your fingertips. ClassPass is a monthly membership that operates on a credit system, allowing you to reserve spots in various classes, like yoga, cycling, or strength training, without being tethered to a single gym or studio. The flexibility and variety dampen the monotony that can often sneak up on a rigid workout regimen.

With a user-friendly app, you simply browse and book the classes that mesh with your schedule and fitness aspirations. It's a stress-free process that lets you effortlessly manage your credits and explore different workouts. Whether you're at home or traveling, ClassPass adjusts to your dynamic lifestyle, ensuring you stay on top of your fitness game everywhere you roam.

ClassPass vs. Traditional Gym Memberships

Evaluating ClassPass alongside traditional gym memberships opens up a conversation about flexibility versus consistency in your wellness journey.

  1. Variety vs. Specialization: ClassPass showers you with a spectrum of options, while a gym membership tends to specialize your fitness experience.

  2. Flexibility vs. Routine: With ClassPass, you're not tied to one location or workout, contrasting the fixed nature of a classic gym membership.

  3. Cost vs. Value: ClassPass operates on a credit system that may offer savings for varied use, whereas gym memberships usually come with a stable monthly fee.

  4. Commitment vs. Experimentation: A gym membership often signifies a longer-term commitment, while ClassPass facilitates a no-strings-attached approach to exploring new workout formats.

Choosing ClassPass can signify embracing a modern, dynamic approach to fitness. Plus, there are no cancel fees.

However, traditional gym memberships still hold their ground by providing a consistent, focused setting to build your strength and form.

Is ClassPass Worth It

Assessing ClassPass's value is contingent on your passion for diversity and adaptability in fitness routines. If variety fuels your commitment, then yes, it could be invaluable. Plus, you can start with a free trial.

For spontaneous souls craving new experiences, ClassPass shines brightly.

If your workout whimsy is piqued by the prospect of hopping from hot yoga to barre, then ClassPass can be a treasure chest of ever-changing fitness jewels. The joy of exploring a myriad of studios without the tether of a sole membership can be liberating.

However, if you're a creature of habit who finds solace in the familiar hum of your local gym, ClassPass might not resonate as strongly with you. For individuals who view fitness as a steady journey rather than a tapestry of varied adventures, the investment in ClassPass might not align with their preferred approach to health and wellbeing. It's less about 'good' or 'bad' and more about compatibility with your lifestyle and goals.
