Health Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar
There’s a reason apple cider vinegar salad dressing is such a popular choice! Thanks to its natural acetic acid, unfiltered apple cider vinegar may help with weight loss, digestion, and blood sugar balance. Plus, when paired with extra-virgin olive oil, it’s a great source of healthy fats, making it a smart choice for anyone following a calorie diet focused on whole foods.
This super easy dressing is perfect for salads of any season. It's light and refreshing for summer. However, it also lends itself well to fall and winter salads because it has the sweetness of honey and the tartness of apple cider vinegar. You can also add a little bit of Dijon mustard for some depth of flavor.
I really enjoy this recipe because it's a great switch up to a balsamic vinaigrette. If I do opt for a balsamic vinegar, I opt for Madhava. This super simple recipe is like an oil and vinegar dressing with a new twist.
Honey Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing Recipe
3/4 c Madhava avocado oil
1/4 c Madhava extra virgin olive oil
1/3 c. Madhava apple cider vinegar
1/3 c. Madhava honey
1 Heavy dash of Black Pepper
2 generous pinches Sea Salt
To make this dressing, simply whisk together all of the ingredients in a bowl or jar. I like to use a jar so that I can store any leftover dressing in the fridge. This dressing will last for up to 2 weeks in the fridge. If you crave a hint of citrus, try fresh lemon juice. I typically sprinkle salt and pepper on top of my finished salad, too.
I love to serve this with tomatoes and cucumbers. You could also add a little raw onion, but my family doesn’t like onion very much, so I skip it.
Storage & Prep Tips
One of my favorite ways to store this homemade apple cider vinaigrette is in a mason jar with a tight-fitting lid or any airtight container. Not only does this make it super easy to store, but it also means you can give it a good shake before each use to make sure all the simple ingredients are well combined. If you’re making a big batch, a shaker bottle works great too!
For the best results, I like to let my dressing sit at room temperature for a few minutes before using it. This helps the flavors meld together, especially if the oil has thickened in the fridge.
How to Use This Dressing
This easy recipe is my go-to for all kinds of salads. Some of my favorite ways to use it include:
Tossing it with a simple green salad or kale salad for a light yet flavorful meal.
Drizzling over a hearty salad with roasted sweet potatoes, nuts, and grains.
Mixing it into a grain salad with quinoa, wild rice, or farro for extra texture.
Using it as a marinade for chicken or fish—especially great when paired with fall flavors.
Serving it on an arugula salad with goat cheese, pecans, and apples.
This dressing is so versatile, and it takes any salad to the next level without the additives found in store-bought dressings!
